The easy route up Pico Ruivo
Peaks
We took a last minute trip to Madeira for some final sun before the misery of the British winter hit and the weather did not disappoint.
We’d done our research on places to visit and so drove our way to the top of Pico do Areeiro one evening to watch the sunset with a few hundred other tourists!
They next day, we decided to take the less busy PR1.2 route from Achada do Teixeira to the summit of Pico Ruivo for an incredible sunset view and only a handful of other people around.
